IDnow study: More than half of consumers know about the EUDI Wallet, but trust remains insufficient

IDnow published a consumer survey on the EUDI Wallet, polling 1,000 adults each in Germany and France. It found that 52% of consumers knew about the wallet. 48% of respondents said they would often abandon a transaction if the identity verification process was too complicated or took too long; 42% cited better fraud protection as the most important factor in using the wallet. Sapio Research conducted the survey online in June 2026. IDnow says member states must make an EUDI Wallet available to citizens by December 2026, and banks must accept it by December 2027.
