U.S. Announces Successful Resolution of Grupo Yazaki Rapid Response Labor Mechanism Matter

The United States announced the successful resolution of a matter under the USMCA Rapid Response Labor Mechanism (RRM) at Grupo Yazaki’s plant in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, and the resumption of customs liquidation for goods from the plant. Yazaki issued a neutrality statement and company guidelines on freedom of association and collective bargaining, and adopted a policy respecting the rights of minority unions. The Mexican government provided relevant in-person training to all employees and continues to monitor the plant. U.S. Trade Representative Greer directed the Secretary of the Treasury to resume liquidation of the plant’s unliquidated goods.
