EU TAXUD Webinar Recap: CBAM from Policy to Practice—Emissions Calculations, Declarations and Certificates

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (TAXUD) published a recap of a CBAM webinar to help companies prepare for the first compliance deadline on September 30, 2027, by which they must submit their first CBAM declaration and surrender the corresponding CBAM certificates. The webinar covered the overall CBAM framework, Omnibus simplification measures, the definitive regime taking effect on January 1, 2026, the extension to downstream products, monitoring methodologies, implementation milestones, and the declaration and certificate processes. It also introduced recent Commission guidance for verification bodies and national accreditation bodies.
