Average daily turnover in the NSE cash market fell to a six-month low in September, weighed down by market pessimism

Average daily turnover in the NSE cash market fell 4% month over month to 1.15 trillion rupees in September, a six-month low, from 1.20 trillion rupees in August; BSE turnover, meanwhile, rose 5% month over month to 110.81 billion rupees. Foreign investors recorded net outflows of $2.7 billion in September, bringing cumulative net outflows in 2026 to $26.8 billion. The Nifty and Sensex each fell 6%, closing lower for a second consecutive month.
