Midea Group completes acquisition of Esaote

Midea Group has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Italian medical imaging company Esaote. Esaote will join Midea’s healthcare division while continuing to operate as an independent global medical equipment company headquartered in Genoa. Esaote had revenue of €267 million in fiscal 2025, 70% of which came from international markets. Of its approximately 1,160 employees, 20% work in R&D. Franco Fontana was confirmed by the new shareholder to continue as Esaote’s CEO.
