Cyprus and Kazakhstan Move from AI Agreement to Joint Projects

Cyprus Chief Scientist Skourides said the country and Kazakhstan are turning a memorandum of understanding signed during the president’s visit to Kazakhstan in June 2026 into joint projects in artificial intelligence, space technology and applied research. This week, he met with Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Cyprus, Zhumakanov, at the Research and Innovation Foundation to discuss connecting research institutions, universities and innovation ecosystems in the two countries, identifying areas for joint projects and promoting exchanges between experts, with a focus on AI, space technology and applied research. The ambassador also invited Skourides to attend an AI conference in Kazakhstan in October.
