Phishing emails surge during Amazon’s fall Prime shopping event, pressuring sellers to verify within 24 hours or face store suspension

During Amazon’s 2026 Fall Prime shopping event, sellers in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Canada received highly convincing phishing emails impersonating official communications. The emails pressured them with the message, “Complete identity verification within 24 hours or your store will be permanently deactivated and your funds frozen,” and lured them into clicking links to submit their account information. Some sellers have already experienced logins from unfamiliar locations, changes to the phone numbers linked to their accounts, and irregularities with their payment accounts.
