“Human-authored” book labels gain ground amid frequent AI scandals
AI overview
The Frankfurt Book Fair this week featured “human-authored” book labeling schemes from several countries. About 200 works have already received Librinova’s “human-authored” certification in France. The Books By People certification mark in the UK was registered with the UK Intellectual Property Office this week. It requires works to meet the “organic literature” standard, allowing only limited AI use, such as spelling or grammar checks. The Authors Guild’s self-certification system in the United States has labeled about 6,500 works so far.
