Italy fines IQVIA €7 million over health data of about one million patients

Italy’s data protection authority, Garante, adopted Decision No. 710 on September 23 and published it on October 2, finding that the LPD database IQVIA Solutions Italy built using prescription and diagnosis records from about 800 family doctors still contained personal data, contrary to the company’s claim that the data were anonymous. It fined the company €7 million.
