Consumer rights information displayed on product detail pages across Amazon EU marketplaces
Amazon displays consumer rights information to consumers on product detail pages across its EU marketplaces to implement the EU Directive on Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT). The platform will automatically display a legal conformity guarantee notice of at least two years, reminding consumers of their right to repair, replacement, or return; if a seller considers itself the manufacturer and the product can be used for more than two years, it may choose to display a durability guarantee label on the detail page. The directive also imposes restrictions on environmental claims supported solely by carbon offsets.
After the EU ECGT takes effect, Amazon product detail pages automatically display notices about consumer rights, allowing sellers to determine compliance requirements for their own listings.
