AirPods turns 10: released in 2016, the same year iPhone 7 ditched the headphone jack

Apple’s first AirPods were announced on September 7, 2016, making them 10 years old now, though they didn’t go on sale until December that year. On the same day, Apple introduced the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus without a headphone jack, sparking controversy. Apple still sells wired EarPods with 3.5 mm, Lightning, and USB-C connectors.
