Indian Seafarers’ Union FSUI Calls for Prime Minister-Level Crisis Management Team in Response to Merchant Vessel Attacks

The Panama-flagged crude oil tanker MT GEM NO. 2 was attacked by a drone at Sharjah anchorage. All 22 Indian crew members aboard were safe. Manoj Yadav, secretary-general of the Federation of Seafarers’ Unions of India (FSUI), called for a high-level crisis management team under the Prime Minister, bringing together the defense establishment, the Navy, and the shipping industry to assess the threats facing Indian seafarers in conflict zones.
