India and Bangladesh Resume Trade Joint Working Group Talks After Three Years
The India-Bangladesh Trade Joint Working Group resumed talks in New Delhi after a three-year hiatus. Bangladesh called for easing restrictions on Indian ports and eliminating non-tariff barriers, while India called on Bangladesh to lift restrictions on the overland transport of Indian yarn and reduce high tariffs. Bangladesh is also concerned about whether its duty-free access to the SAFTA market will continue after it graduates from least developed country status. Bangladeshi exports to India totaled $1.75 billion in 2025–26, while Indian exports to Bangladesh totaled $10.96 billion.
