StarTech: Italian minister Urso meets union, demands explanation from company over Trieste factory

Italy’s Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, met with StarTech union representatives at the Trieste provincial government offices, saying the government’s goal was to restart the Trieste factory and safeguard jobs. Urso said the transfer plan previously promised by the company had not been implemented, that “the time has come,” and called on the company to be fully transparent. He said special administration was the only way to find a suitable industrial partner. Massimiliano Fedriga, president of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, attended, as the government and region coordinated measures to protect production assets and workers.
