FCC weighs proposals on D2D, a mid-band spectrum auction, and cellular spectrum for drones

The U.S. FCC is considering three wireless connectivity rule changes and plans to vote later this month: reforming direct-to-device (D2D) communications rules, auctioning 25 megahertz of mid-band spectrum, and opening about 50 megahertz of spectrum in the 800 MHz cellular band to drones. The proposals could create new opportunities for satellite operators, wireless companies, and drone manufacturers.
